Food Inc.
I went with a good friend of mine Steven Matt from www.one-earth.com to go see "Food Inc." the other night at BAM, and i have to say, i was blown away. Ever since i moved out of the corn field where i grew up in central Pennsylvania, I've been wary of the food i put into my body. It's hard to find good healthy food choices in Pennsylvania. Ironic, considering how much agriculture is around you. In a way, that's what this movie is about.
So much of our food that we eat is engineered, not for the health and well being of the consumer, but for profit margins and bottom lines. I've been an avid label reader for years, but what are you supposed to do when the labels don't tell you the whole store.
I urge everyone to go watch this film, hold a screening when it comes out on DVD, spread the word. Your health may depend on it.
